What I have come to realize is yes, I do want to and will move but I don’t need that to happen in order to be happy. Or to have my business be what I want it to be.

So many times in life we tell ourselves if only my situation were different then I could……(fill in the blank).

The reality is, being happy exactly where you are is a choice. If you keep focusing on that thing (or situation) you don’t have,  it’s likely you will never get what you want because your focus is on the wrong thing. You are putting your energy into what you don’t have rather than on what you do.

It took me a long time to learn to be grateful for what I have NOW. In fact, this only recently sunk in for me! I used to get so caught up in things being different, people being different, figuring out all the details and planning out how I could change things to get what I want. I was putting so much energy into things I could never change.

If we always wish things are different, we miss out on what we have now.

If only I had more money, I’m tired of living paycheck to paycheck!

If only I had more support from others, my family just doesn’t understand what I do!

If only I had more clients, then I wouldn’t have to worry about paying bills!

If only I had more time, I never can get done all that I need to do!

The list could go on and on.

But you have the power where you are to bloom and feel completely happy about where you are. Yes, you can want more for your life, but you will get that by focusing on what’s good and working now, not by what you don’t have or by trying to control things you never can.

Learning to be happy where you are won’t happen overnight. Think about planting a seed or small plant. It needs sunlight, water, and food. Not too much and not too little. Different plants need different amounts too.

You are the same! It will take time to bloom into what you are meant to be and you have to find the balance that works for you.
